TownFare Safety

Safety & Reporting

TownFare helps people discover one another; it cannot eliminate the risks of in-person transactions. Use reasonable judgment and report conduct that may put people or the community at risk.

Effective August 23, 2026

Meeting and pickup safety

  • Use public or otherwise appropriate meeting locations when practical.
  • Do not share more personal information than a transaction reasonably requires.
  • For home-based sellers, use TownFare's general-area and private pickup tools rather than publicly posting a residential address when possible.
  • Trust your judgment and end an interaction if something feels unsafe or materially different from the listing.

What to report

  • Stolen property, scams or fraud, unsafe products or services, harassment, inappropriate content, counterfeit items, copyright or trademark issues, misleading listings, illegal activity, and food or safety concerns.

How TownFare responds

Reports are private and reviewed by TownFare. A report does not automatically remove content. Depending on the evidence and seriousness, TownFare may request information, warn a user, hide or remove content, suspend or ban an account, or escalate a matter for safety or legal review.

Questions or concerns? Use the TownFare support page. Legal policies may be updated as TownFare develops; material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date or other reasonable notice.
